In 1 Corinthians 1:10, Paul is exhorting the church in Corinth, which had divided into rival factions, to be of one mind and judgment or affection.

Satan wants to divide us so that we won’t be an effective church! The same thing happens in our marriages. Satan wants to split us up and diminish our impact as believers. As the family goes, so does the country. Look at our nation now! Jesus wants us to be unified. We need to agree on the essentials of our Christian faith, agree to disagree on the nonessentials, and work together with the same affection to help people find freedom and eternal life in Jesus Christ.
