God gives us contentment

Paul tells us in Philippians 4:11-12, " . . . I have learned to be content in whatever circumstances I am. I know how to get along with humble means, and I also know how to live in prosperity; in any and every circumstance I have learned the secret of being filled and going hungry, both of having abundance and suffering need.”

Paul has learned to be content, trusting God to take care of him in lean times and fat times. When we trust the Lord, He will give us a contentment that is priceless. It is a life-changer! Nothing can rattle you when you are content. You stop comparing yourself to others. You live without want. David says in Psalm 23:1, “The Lord is my shepherd. I shall not want.” When God is your shepherd, what else do you need to know? He takes care of His sheep.

Paul wrote in 1 Timothy 6:6, “But godliness actually is a means of great gain when accompanied by contentment.”

The greatest gift you can give the world is the ability to settle yourself and sit quietly. In essence, I mean sitting content inanysituation. The Lord gives this to us. God satisfies those cravings that make us want. It could be food, scrolling on our phone, or running to alcohol and drugs. Those cravings make us restless. God gives us contentment when we put our trust in Him.

Put your trust in God today and find that contentment that only He brings.
