We are chosen to be holy and blameless before Him.
God has chosen us to be holy and blameless. God wants us to choose Him. He wants to love Him. He wants us to want Him. God enables us to come to Him. He sets the table. Then we have the choice to choose Him.
The Bible says to “taste and see that the Lord is good” in Psalm 34:8. So He chooses those who will choose Him. And so He has chosen us who will choose Him to be holy and blameless (set apart). How does that happen? How do we become blameless? By the blood shed at the cross, and by the process of sanctification. We are holy outside of time and becoming more holy in time. God uses every circumstance to create sanctification. God works in us to make us holy and blameless. “For it is God who is at work in you, both to will and to work for His good pleasure.”(Philippians 2:13) God wants us to be like Jesus. And we will be one day! Look at 1 John 3:1-3 . . .
“See how great a love the Father has bestowed on us, that we would be called children of God; and such we are. For this reason the world does not know us, because it did not know Him. 2 Beloved, now we are children of God, and it has not appeared as yet what we will be. We know that when He appears, we will be like Him, because we will see Him just as He is. 3 And everyone who has this hope fixed on Him purifies himself, just as He is pure.”
